Quiet Seawatch – 30/x/13

There was a fairly strong wind from the south-west this afternoon, so I decided that I would head to Mumbles Head to do some sea-watching. Despite the promising weather, very little was seen other than 3 Guillemot, 4 unidentified Auk sp. and a number of common gull species including good numbers of Mediterranean Gulls.

The high tide at Blackpill produced good numbers of waders including 5 Bar-Tailed Godwits, c.30 Curlew, 2 Dunlin, c.50 Turnstone, 22 Redshank (my first on the patch) and c. 200 Oystercatcher. Good numbers of gulls were present, but no unusual species were seen.
