Ross’s Gull Dip – 14/ii/14

Having already tried (and failed) to see the Ross’s Gull at Afan Rivermouth a few days ago, I visited again today in a howling gale and heavy rain. Not surprisingly I failed for a second time, with only three Little Gulls as consolation (two 1st-winter and an adult winter (a 2nd-winter was seen as well last time)). Also present were good numbers of Turnstone, Oystercatcher, two Reed Bunting, two Rock Pipit and the usual gull species.

During the first visit, a white-winged gull species was seen briefly overhead, a Mediterranean Gull was seen on the beach and two Shelduck were noted.
