University Birdwatch Challenge – 25/ii/14

The purpose of my last visit to Singleton Park and the coastline adjacent to the university was to count the number and variety of species in the area. A university birdwatch challenge has been organised, and I am taking part in it.

I spent another few hours on the UBC area today, and added nine species to the tally, now at 48. Amongst the species seen today were Cormorant, Great-Crested Grebe, a Guillemot close inshore, and most of the expected Gull species at the coast. Here Collared Dove was also added to the tally.

At Brynmill Park, Mute Swan, Tufted Duck, Goosander, Grey Heron and Greenfinch were added to the tally. An adult Mediterranean Gull was also present.
