After a very brief few hours at home I was off again, this time heading north to spend a few weeks in Scotland.
However, the first few days of the holiday were spent resting, so not a great deal of birding was done. An Osprey was seen from the car as we passed through the Lake District on the M6, but other than that the journey was a dull one.
On arrival in the highlands, good numbers of Tawny Owl (presumably primarily young birds) were seen. Also a Spotted Flycatcher was seen on the Golf Course at Boat of Garten as well as good numbers of Yellowhammer. As per usual in the Highlands at this time of year, good numbers of freshly emerged Scotch Argus were around, along with a few Dark-Green Fritillary.
