The final week of the holiday was once again spent mainly relaxing, and not a lot of birding was done.
A visit to Alturlie Point on the afternoon of the 7th produced a few common waders, with particularly good views of juvenile Dunlin and Ringed Plover on the shoreline. A couple of Hooded Crows were seen, though it is questionable whether or not they are hybrids in that region.
On the final day in the highlands, a quick visit to the dragonfly pond near Loch Garten, resulted in good views of a Four-Spotted Chaser, as well as plenty of Black Darter and Emerald Damselfly.
The holiday ended with a bit of a disappointment, when we were unable to stop at Leighton Moss RSPB due to car problems, but overall it was a good one with some decent birds thrown in as well.
