Shrike Dip – 25/xii/14

On the christmas eve, Peter O’Duffy reported a Great Grey Shrike on my old patch only a few minutes walk from my house. I spent several hours there on christmas day but unfortunately there was no sign of the bird. There was some comfort provided by a Red Kite which drifted overhead (only the sixth record for the valley). There were also a couple of Redpoll and plenty of Siskin around plus a drumming Great Spotted Woodpecker.P1240647 Ced
