Quiet walk at the Wetlands – 29/xii/14

My Dad and I went down to the Newport Wetlands visitor centre at Uskmouth for a quick walk to see what was about.

It was quite quiet with only a few species about. A Peregrine, several Gadwall, a couple of Tufted Ducks, a few Reed Buntings and Stonechat and a few distant Shelduck were seen. A couple of Cetti’s Warblers were heard. A few calling Water Rails were also heard only at sunset to round things off.
