Birding the Lothian Coast – 24-25/ix/15

Another visit to Scotland for a family wedding meant that I had some spare time for a bit of east coast birding. With the winds coming strongly from the west, my expectations were not high.

The ‘highlights’ of two tough days were:

24th – Two Reed Bunting and good numbers of freshly arrived Pink-Footed Geese near Barns Ness plus a showy Bar-Tailed Godwit at Ferny Ness.

25th – plenty of waders at Musselburgh including a Grey Plover, a Ruff and four Knot. Also there were a Sandwich Tern and two Grey Partridge.
