I paid a quick visit to Blackpill for the gull roost this evening, and it was surprisingly productive. The highlights were a flock of 6 Brent Geese (dark-bellied) which flew south west without landing and the Great Northern Diver from saturday, which I managed to scope distantly from patch.
The gull numbers were relatively low, with only three Mediterranean Gulls amongst the usuals. Other notable sightings were four fem/imm Shelduck and a couple of Great Crested Grebes on the sea. Not a bad haul for less than an hour of birding.
